Marketing Manager (Events)

Job Purpose

Russell Publishing is looking for an experienced marketing manager with strong marketing and PR background and a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience.

The successful candidate will be accountable for the execution of marketing and PR activity for a portfolio of Russell Publishing events which includes but may not be limited to:

  • Responsibility of the events marketing function for a growing portfolio of events
  • Oversea the planning, design, implementation and execution of sponsorship, exhibition, awards and delegate campaigns
  • Manage and implement multi-channel digital and offline marketing campaigns
  • Track industry and marketing developments and innovations
  • Provide on-going and post event campaign analysis
  • Management of marketing spend
  • Acquisition and management of media partnerships

  • IT skills in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
  • An aptitude for conducting targeted research to develop new sales leads

Main Responsibilities

  • Produce and implement marketing plans for each event
  • Source, brief and manage advertising creative, media, direct marketing and PR, ensuring all are on message and to corporate brand guidelines for each event
  • Working with the Head of Events, identify and secure third party partnerships and maintain relationships
  • Track marketing campaigns against agreed performance measures and produce post event evaluation reports
  • Manage marketing spend, source and manage suppliers, track all costs ensuring all are kept within budget
  • Support the sales teams through production of sales packs and sourcing of data for campaigns

  • Creating, expanding and maintaining positive relationships by liaising ‘regularly’ with colleagues within the Company and contacts externally in a professional manner in order to ensure that the highest standards are maintained
  • Manage, guide and coach colleagues within the team and the company as a whole
  • Ensure that involvement in teamwork and collaboration beyond the team is effective
  • Understand when it is appropriate to reveal facts and when not to reveal
  • Manage effective working relationships with a range of other groups including juniors, superiors, suppliers, peers and clients acting in the best interests of the company
  • Attend training and development events as required
