Marketing Executive – Events

Salary:£28,000 – £35,000 per annum
Location:Russell Publishing operates a hybrid working policy, with the ability to work from home up to 3 days per week.
Our office is located in Brasted, Kent.


We are recruiting a Marketing Executive to join our Events Marketing team, who are responsible for delivering key marketing objectives across all 6 Russell Publishing brands. The successful candidate will devise and manage all elements of marketing for our Events portfolio across all brands, broadening awareness, increasing reach, and optimising attendance of our events whilst providing performance metrics and campaign analysis.

Applicants should have at least 2 years’ experience at Marketing Executive level or similar within a commercial environment, ideally with events experience. With the ability to demonstrate success and growth in reach, delivering successful campaigns, and achieving key objectives such as revenue targets in a commercial environment. B2B media experience desirable but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce and implement multi-channel marketing plans for events, liaising with the Events, Content and Commercial teams as well as the wider Marketing function.
  • Control and manage the planning, design, implementation and execution of sponsorship, exhibition, awards and delegate campaigns both online and offline.
  • Update and maintain event websites, including programme, downloads and brochures, with a strong focus placed on UI/UX.
  • Liaison with designers (internal/ external), printers, and other suppliers responsible for the production of marketing materials.
  • Generate targeted number of sales leads for the internal sales teams using a range of marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Analyse and test campaign performance with the objective of continual improvement
  • Attend exhibitions and conferences run by Russell Publishing as well as other relevant events. Some overseas travel is required.
  • Manage and track agreed marketing spend for the brand.
  • Maintain a consistent knowledge of contemporary marketing techniques and tools across the full marketing mix.
  • Any other duties as required.

Key Skills/ Requirements:

  • 2 years’ experience at Marketing Executive level or equivalent within B2B media or similar environment
  • Proven track record of success with demonstrable metrics for growing brand reach, delivering successful campaigns and achieving key objectives such as revenue targets in a commercial environment
  • Basic understanding and working knowledge of legislation including GDPR and advertising best practice
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills
  • Ability to deliver quality work in a fast paced and high-volume deadline driven environment
  • Ability to manage a full campaign from start to finish and able to manage several projects at once under tight deadlines and accommodate rapid changes
  • Excellent IT skills:
    • Microsoft Office is essential, including Word and Excel.
    • Digital systems including CRM, online marketing tools and social media.
    • Adobe creative packages would be advantageous but not essential.
