Salary:£25,000 – £28,000 per annum, to be prorated to part time hours (20 hours per week)
Location:Russell Publishing operates a hybrid working policy with the ability to work from home up to 3 days per week.
Our office is located in Brasted, Kent.


Russell Publishing is currently looking for an experienced Purchase Ledger Assistant to join the finance team to take responsibility for a range of Purchase Ledger accounting tasks and assisting with ad hoc projects as required.

It will be essential to ensure the core activities and workload are processed in an efficient and timely manner to ensure daily reports data are met. The core activities will include:

The Role:

  • Balancing account with complex cost analysis
  • Providing month end support
  • Manage accounts payable invoicing
  • Control of staff expenses and petty cash
  • Process credit card expenditure analysis
  • Provide additional reports to as required
  • General filing and maintenance of paper/electronic records
  • Liaise with colleagues and customers as necessary to ensure a high standard of service and professionalism
  • Any other duties which may reasonably be required

Key Skills:

  • AAT/ACCA/CIMA part qualified
  • At least 4 years’ experience of bookkeeping and accountancy
  • Understanding of business accounting systems and CRMs
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • High level of communication skills, both written and oral
  • Experience or knowledge of purchase ledger and credit control is advantageous but not essential
  • Reliable, diligent and conscientious – presenting a high level of professionalism to clients and colleagues
  • Accuracy and ability to meet deadlines is essential
  • Highly adaptable – able to respond to changing priorities easily
  • Working understanding of GDPR legislation
  • Able to work well in a pressured environment
