Type:Part Time: 20-25 hours per week, 4 days per week
Location: Currently working from home but there will be a requirement to work in Brasted, Kent, with the ability to work from home up to 2 days per week.


To support the continued growth of the company, we are recruiting an experienced Senior Accounts Assistant on a part time basis to support the Financial Operations and to be responsible for a range of senior accounting tasks and assisting with ad hoc projects as required.

The successful applicant will work closely with the Head of Finance and the team to support the processing of financial transactions and assisting in the day to day as necessary.

Applicants will need to be AAT qualified and/or part CIMA/ACCA qualified with at least 5 years’ experience of bookkeeping and accountancy.

It will be essential to ensure the core activities and workload are processed in an efficient and timely manner to ensure daily reports data are met. The core activities will include:

  • Processing journals (accruals, prepayment, depreciation)
  • Control of deferment account and income accruals
  • Balancing account with complex analysis
  • Providing month end support
  • Posting & Reconciliation of bank statements with accounting system
  • Manage accounts payable including purchase order processing and invoicing
  • Control of staff expenses, credit card expenditure analysis
  • Support monthly payroll processing & submission
  • UK VAT return and liaise with VAT agent in respect of EU VAT registrations (for physical conferences & events)
  • Any other duties which may reasonably be required.

Key Skills & Requirements:

  • AAT qualified and/or part CIMA/ACCA qualified with at least 5 years’ experience of bookkeeping and accountancy.
  • Competent in finance systems/software and proficient in Excel
  • Experience of international VAT desirable
  • Working understanding of GDPR legislation
  • Demonstrable professional level of interaction with internal & external stakeholders
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Accurate data and information processing
  • Flexible in a multi-task environment and adaptable to changing priorities


Due to the COVID pandemic the company is currently operating a work from home arrangement. We do offer a hybrid/ flexible working policy however, it will be necessary that applicants can commute and attend the office based in Brasted, Kent.
